Who is required to have a Family Care Plan?

A Family Care Plan is essential for soldiers who have dependents, ensuring that their dependents are properly taken care of in the event the soldier is deployed, goes into training, or otherwise becomes unavailable to provide care. This requirement primarily applies to single parents and dual military couples because they may have unique needs for childcare and support systems that must be addressed.

Single parents need a plan to ensure that their children are cared for when the parent is unavailable, and dual military couples need to coordinate care for their dependents, especially when both parents are deployed or otherwise occupied with military duties.
